Visitors find your ticket shop through a fixed link. That link has two parts, and you can change both yourself:
Organisation URL: the first part, the same for all your events. For example your-organisation.weticket.io
Event link (slug): the part after the slash, one for each event. For example your-organisation.weticket.io/your-event
WeTicket creates these links automatically from the name of your organisation and your event. Spaces become a dash (-). You can change both links at any time, even after your event is live and sales have started.
Which link do you want to change?
You want... | Change this | What happens |
A new name for your club, association or company | Organisation URL | The links of all your events change with it |
A shorter or clearer link for one event | Event link | Only the link of that one event changes |
Before you start
Old links stop working. That includes links on your website, on social media, in newsletters and in QR codes that point to your shop. If you can, change your link before you share it.
The organisation URL changes everything at once. Do you have several events online? Then you need to update the shared links for all of them.
Your old organisation URL becomes available. Another organisation can take it after you change yours, so you can't always switch back.
Tickets already sold stay valid. The QR code on a ticket isn't tied to your shop link, so your visitors don't need to do anything.
Pick something that lasts. Avoid putting a year in your organisation URL. A year is fine in an event link, such as /summer-party-2027.
Changing your organisation URL
Click your organisation name in the top right.
Go to Settings → General.
Click Edit next to Organisation-URL.
Enter the new name under New organisation URL. Use only letters, numbers and dashes. You'll see right away what your new link looks like.
Tick I understand all previously shared links will stop working.
Click Save.
Changing the link of an event
Open your event.
Go to Settings in the left menu and choose Basics.
Click Edit next to Shop URL.
Enter the new slug, using only letters, numbers and dashes. For example spring-festival.
Tick I understand all previously shared links will stop working.
Click Save.
After you've changed it
Open your new link in a private browser window to check your shop loads.
Replace the old link on your website, in your social media bios and in any scheduled posts or newsletters.
Have you embedded your shop in your website? Update the link in that code too.
Make new QR codes for posters and flyers. You'll find them under your shop's share button.
Not working?
You see URL already taken. Another organisation already uses that name. Pick a different one, for example by adding your town or city.
You don't see an Edit button next to Organisation-URL. You don't have rights to edit the organisation settings. Ask a colleague who does to change the URL, or to give you those rights.
Your link won't save. Check it only contains letters, numbers and dashes. Spaces, full stops and characters like & or é don't work.
Your old link shows an error. That's expected, old links stop working after a change. Share your new link instead.
