How to Invalidate Tickets and Process Refunds

Cancelling tickets and refunding orders to visitors

With WeTicket, you can cancel tickets and process refunds per ticket.

  1. Click on your organisation name.

  2. Navigate to Orders.

  3. Click on the order of the person you want to assist.

    • You can search using name, email, or payment reference in the search bar.

  4. At the top right, select Refund.

  5. Next select the tickets you want to Cancel or Refund.


Step 1 Cancel tickets

The first step is to cancel the tickets, if you only want to give a refund you can skip this step.

After selecting the tickets you can confirm the cancelation by clicking the Cancel ticket button below on the right.


Step 2 Refund tickets

The second step is to refund, if you only want to give a cancel without giving a refund no further action is required.

At the top of this page you see how many tickets in this order have been marked as canceled.

To refund tickets

  • Select the tickets you want to refund

  • You can optionally edit the refund amount

  • And choose to notify the visitor by email which can be drafted below

  • By hitting the Refund button below, the refund process is started. If enabled, the customer will receive the email you drafted.

πŸ’‘ Tip: WeTicket provides a default cancellation update email, which you can edit. You can do this manually per order or set up a custom template.


What happens next?

WeTicket and Stripe handle the refund for you, the customer will receive the money back in their account within a few business days.

Refunds are processed using the available balance in your Stripe account.

You cannot refund more than your current balance. WeTicket will show you an error message. To process refunds, add extra funds to your balance via the Stripe dashboard.

Will I be charged extra fees for refunds? No, refunds are included in WeTicket's standard fee.
