How to Configure Your Checkout Settings

Set default checkout questions for all your ticket shops, including phone number, postal code, birth date, gender, house rules and email marketing opt-in.

Updated today

To get started, click on your organization name in the top right corner, then click Settings, and select Checkout. From here, you can control what information you collect from customers during the ticket purchase process. Keeping this simple means fewer barriers to completing a purchase. After saving, these questions will be added to the checkout of all your ticket shops.

  • Phone number. Choose whether to ask customers for their phone number at checkout. Set to "Don't ask" if you don't need it, or enable it if you need to reach attendees directly (e.g. for last-minute event updates). You can choose between don't ask, optional, and required.

  • Postal code & country. Useful if you need to understand where your audience is coming from or if your payment provider requires it. Otherwise, leave it off to keep checkout fast. You can choose between don't ask, optional, and required.

  • Birth date. Only enable this if your event has age restrictions or you need it for legal compliance. For most events, you can skip it. You can choose between don't ask, optional, and required.

  • Gender. Same as above, only turn this on if it's genuinely relevant to your event. The fewer questions, the smoother the checkout. You can choose between don't ask, optional, and required.

  • House Rules URL. Paste a link to your venue or event house rules. This will be shown to customers during checkout so they can review the rules before completing their purchase. Leave it blank if you don't have any.

  • Newsletter. Toggle this on to give customers the option to sign up for your newsletter during checkout. This is opt-in, so it won't block the purchase, it just adds a checkbox.

Once you've made your changes, click Save to apply them.

General tip: The fewer fields you enable, the faster your customers can check out. Only ask for what you truly need.
